Overview

Acute Angling calls this their most consistent Amazon trip — a reason it’s been running for over 25 years. Eight days total with six full fishing days aboard an air-conditioned yacht on the Rio Negro Basin out of Manaus, accessing remote blackwater rivers and shallow backwater systems that hold Giant Peacock Bass alongside butterfly and speckled varieties. Two anglers per boat with one guide; 17-foot Jon boats are used to reach water larger vessels can’t. The yacht moves each night to follow the fish and position you on productive water every morning. Charter flights, two nights in Manaus, all meals, and tackle are included.

THE EXPERIENCE

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Manaus; overnight at included hotel.

Day 2

Charter flight to fishing grounds; board the Explorer yacht and begin fishing.

Days 3–7

Full fishing days on the blackwater rivers and backwater systems of the Rio Negro Basin, targeting peacock bass in 17-foot Jon boats with your guide.

Day 8

Charter flight back to Manaus for international departure.
